Can you tell me what your favorite part about writing is? Plotting? Revisions? The actual writing part?I don’t plot. It gives me hives! I actually love the first draft because I can do whatever I want. I can experiment with new things. Throw my characters into crazy situations and see how it all comes together in the end.

If you were stranded in an elevator with just one book on you, which book would you want it to be?
Without question THIS HEART OF MINE by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. She made me LOVE romance.

Which one quality of Cherri or Colin would you say is the same as yours? Do you often look for inspiration in the people you know for fictional characters?
I can identify with Cherri because she’s a girl who feels awkward in her “non average” body. There are so many of us girls out there who feel the same way. I do look for inspiration in people I know. I like to study people, take little things they tell me blow them up and make them really juicy.

Tell us about a scene in Thrown for a Curve that you had most fun writing.
I loved writing the opening scene because I love Baba, Cherri’s Ukrainian immigrant grandmother. She makes me smile just thinking about her.
What’s next in the Perfect Fit Series?
Gentlemen Prefer Curves is next. It’s Belinda’s story and it’s juicy!

Thanks for having me!!!

Here is the scene Sugar talked about enjoying to write:

 Excerpt from the first scene:

She heard slow clapping when she stopped, but it didn’t come from Ellis or her laughing husband. She turned to see Colin O’Connell, Mike’s women-loving, Irish-accent-having best friend gazing at her.

He wasn’t in hysterics like Mike, but Cherri had definitely amused him. One side of his mouth curled into a lazy smile, and his soft brown eyes seemed to follow suit, crinkling at the corners.

She had known this man for over a year. The moment she’d laid eyes on him, she’d known he wasn’t a man made for mere mortal women. In fact, he was so far out of her league that for once in her life she forgot to be uneasy around him. But tonight his unabashed male beauty affected her, and for a split second she wished that she were small, and thin, and graceful. But she wasn’t any of those things. She was Cherri, built like a lumberjack, taller than most men, and very far from just plain average. So she ordered her cheeks to stop burning and turned to face him, posing as seductively as her six feet and big behind could manage.

“Hey, sailor,” she purred, mocking her grandmother’s thick Ukrainian accent. “You like what you see?”

Colin’s slow smile bloomed into a full one, and for the tiniest moment Cherri was breathless. He raised his glass to her in a toast. “Aw, love. I think you just made my year.”
